A Church in Black and White.

I took my camera on a little wander to a nearby church and thought I would share the results! It was all blue skies when I set off and started taking photographs but quickly the sky turned grey. Inspired by this I decided to be a bit arty and to try some black and white photographs.

So here are the results .... complete with funny angles and moody skies!

Blessings,

Jenny

  1. The photography is amazing and you were truly inspired to do black and white. The architecture of this beautiful building a only made better by your choice of angles. Beautiful job!

    1. Thank you!

I felt a bit silly taking the photographs especially as there were quite a few people around! x

  2. Did you shoot the photos in a black in white setting on your camera? Or did you do on the computer? I'd recommend adding a little bit of darkening shadows to add contrast. :) My Dad's a photographer and I know all the tricks. Or at least all the ones I use. :)

    1. I used the black and white setting on my camera - I have never altered my photographs on the computer. Don't have the software or the skills! x

    2. you can pick up a basic digital darkroom quite inexpensively, and I am completely self taught, so no excuses! :D
Of course, once you start you will never stop!

  3. Ecclesiastic architecture makes one of the best subjects, all those areas of high contrasts of light and shadow, shapes, and textures. Don't forget to switch back to colour if you come across a stained glass window!

  4. Great photos, love the angles. You can get some free photo editing software on the web btw. I use fotoflexer and picasa, I must admit only to remove red-eye and also blur faces on my blog for privacy, but there are a lot more options on both those packages that I've never played with.
