Foxgloves.

This year the foxgloves have seemed taller and more dramatic than ever before! They give so many opportunities for photographing them and I especially like close ups. I think they look elegant, swaying in the breeze, and the sparrows certainly like hopping up and down them!

Unfortunately, the heavy rain and strong winds here have damaged most of them. Either by flattening them or by knocking the petals off. Such a shame! As the birds planted these I am expecting there to be more next year.

Recent Baking.

I am really enjoying baking and trying out new recipes! For some reason I prefer baking sweet things or little snacks to making full meals probably because it is quicker and easier to fit into my day.

Recently I have made a lemon drizzle cake which tasted lovely but split right down the middle. Not sure what I did wrong this time!

I also made some parmesan hearts from my Baked and Delicious folder. I really liked these although I think rolling the dough would be easier on a cooler day. I think I picked the hottest day of the year so far!

I made some scones too! They turned out to be all different heights so I need to practise making them more uniform in size. These were cheese scones made with both strong cheddar and brie. I had never seen a scone recipe with brie but it really added to the texture. These didn't last long at all as they were delicious hot from the oven with butter.

Cute Sheep!

I went on a lovely long walk yesterday. The weather was hot and sunny but there was a refreshing breeze. I coated myself with sun cream and ventured out with my camera - photographs to come. Down by the river there were sheep and lambs. The mother sheep looked a little scruffy! They must have been boiling in their fleeces! The lambs were so sweet and cute that I couldn't resist trying to get a few pictures of them while they frolicked in the afternoon sun.

This one ^ looked like it was just about to say something!
